A Holy Fool?

The Holy Fool is a peculiar personage of Orthodox Christianity. He or she puts into practice the Biblical instruction, ” If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” (I Corinthians 3). - - - - Holy Fools for Christ pose the question: “Are we keeping heaven at a distance by concern for the regard of others?” The Holy Fool jolts our devotion to what is “reasonable,” so coveted by our Western culture, and to open our eyes to Christianity’s essential otherworldliness. - - - -
